These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and the IRL Social team (“IRL Social”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of the IRL Social app. By creating an account or using IRL Social, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use IRL Social.
You must be at least 17 years old and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for activity under your account.
IRL Social detects, in a privacy-preserving way, when you cross paths with other people and lets you connect, message, and share stories. How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
IRL Social is a community. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You agree that you will not create, upload, send, or share content that:
You also agree not to stalk, track, or harass any person, or to use IRL Social to threaten anyone's safety.
You can report content and block users from within the app. We review reports of objectionable content and abusive users and will act within 24 hours — removing offending content and ejecting the users who provided it. We may suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, with or without notice.
You retain ownership of the photos, videos, and text you create. You grant IRL Social a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, and display your content solely to operate the service (for example, showing your story to people you've crossed paths with). You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights to share it.
Don't misuse the service: no reverse engineering, scraping, automated access, interfering with the network, attempting to de-anonymise other users, or circumventing safety features (including blocks).
IRL Social requires background location and Bluetooth to function. Only a fuzzed, coarse location (never your precise position) ever leaves your device. See the Privacy Policy.
You may delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion removes your account and your profile, stories, and avatar.
IRL Social is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that encounters are detected accurately or completely, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. IRL Social is not a safety or background-check service — use your own judgment when meeting anyone in person.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, IRL Social will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any interactions between users.
We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date. We may suspend or end the service, or your access to it, at any time.
If you obtained IRL Social from the Apple App Store, this EULA is between you and IRL Social, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of this EULA and may enforce it.
